SAPA Theatre Group (Saint Augustine’s Performing Arts) is the public representation of the Music and Performing Arts department of Saint Augustine’s Catholic High School and Sixth Form Centre.

We have a reputation across the West Midlands for quality performances that, by inter-linking curriculum with enrichment, provide highly effective developmental routes enabling performers to achieve their potential.

There is a wealth of opportunities available to students who opt to study within Performing Arts at Saint Augustine’s. At Key Stage 4 students can choose to study one, or a combination of, GCSE Drama, GCSE Music and BTEC Performing Arts. These subjects are popular choices at Key Stage 4 with the vast majority of students significantly over achieving at the end of year 11.

At  Key Stage 5 we offer A Level Music and the Cambridge Technical in Performing Arts. This is a relatively new qualification that enables successful students to achieve a grade equal to 1.5 A-Levels. Both courses are highly respected by higher educational institutions, and the majority of our students have gone on to study at Russell group universities, specialising in a variety of subjects. We are particularly proud of our C.Tech results: since starting the course each student has achieved A/A*.

Our alumni include students who have studied at the Birmingham Conservatoire and have taken lead roles with theatre companies, won vocal awards, performed on the West End and appeared on TV and Film.

The department staff are artists, musicians and performers in their own right, highly qualified and with a wealth of professional experience. This experience is the basis for the standards that all students are encouraged to achieve.
